I am all for getting counseling. However, there is a catch. It should be a godly counselor who knows the Word of God and will address your problems and concerns with a biblical perspective. Secular counseling is often dangerous, in my opinion.

Counseling should not be a pity party. There should be accountability and progress. Homework should be assigned to document and track progress. Accountability is key!

I met a good Christian counselor out here in Colorado. He’s involved in church and often reflects upon God’s Word when counseling.

This world is going to give you bad advice. Be careful who you trust when seeking counseling. As for what else you can do for your mental health, I’ll say it a million times: read the Bible and exercise intensely. Godly counseling can be helpful, but I’ve found that those are the two keys to fighting this battle. Thanks for reading this month’s blog.
